Partnership brings together fintech and agritech expertise to expand opportunity, strengthen communities and support inclusive economic growth across South Africa.
Cape Town, South Africa – 24 May 2026 – The Fintech Association of South Africa (FINASA) and Warm Nest Enterprise have entered into a strategic partnership focused on advancing financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, innovation, and rural economic development through technology-enabled collaboration.
The partnership reflects a shared belief that meaningful economic growth requires stronger connections between industries, communities and innovators. By combining FINASA's extensive fintech ecosystem with Warm Nest Enterprise's experience in agritech and rural development, the two organisations will work together to create opportunities that support entrepreneurs, small businesses, emerging farmers and underserved communities.
As South Africa continues to navigate complex economic challenges, technology is increasingly becoming a powerful enabler of inclusion and growth. The partnership will focus on fostering collaboration across the fintech and agritech sectors, supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives, facilitating industry engagement, and identifying practical opportunities to drive economic participation in communities that have historically been excluded from mainstream financial and commercial systems.
Warm Nest Enterprise has built a reputation for leveraging Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, including IoT, drone technology and data-driven insights, to support smallholder and emerging farmers while strengthening rural economic ecosystems. The organisation's work demonstrates the transformative potential of technology when applied to real-world challenges and community development.
"FINASA exists to support innovation that creates meaningful impact," said Danielle Lawrence, Chief Operating Officer of FINASA. "Many of South Africa's most pressing challenges cannot be solved by a single industry working in isolation. By partnering with organisations such as Warm Nest Enterprise, we can help bridge the gap between financial innovation, entrepreneurship, and rural economic development."
The partnership will create a platform for ongoing collaboration across a range of areas, including financial inclusion, digital innovation, entrepreneurship support, ecosystem engagement, skills development, research, and industry dialogue. Both organisations believe that greater collaboration between sectors is essential to building a more inclusive and resilient economy.
‘True economic transformation in South Africa's rural communities lies at the intersection of financial innovation and agricultural technology. By bridging the gap between FINASA’s fintech ecosystem and Warm Nest Enterprise’s agritech frameworks, we are creating a digital pipeline that empowers smallholder farmers, secures food systems, and drives genuine grassroots financial inclusion. We look forward to a collaborative journey that turns technological potential into tangible rural prosperity.’, Justice Lebotsa, Founder and CEO of Warm Nest Enterprise
The agreement marks an important step in strengthening collaboration between South Africa's technology and development ecosystems, with a focus on ensuring that innovation delivers tangible benefits for businesses, entrepreneurs and communities across the country.
